EMERGENCY!!!! CALL TODAY
HEALTH CARE IS STILL UNDER ATTACK!
CONGRESS COULD VOTE FRIDAY OR SATURDAY!
The GOP House leadership is working the vote count to see if they can schedule another vote of American Health Care Act -some say as early as Friday/Saturday if they can secure the votes, some say next week. With the Freedom Caucus supporting, the vote counts are so close—enough so that the undeclared California Republicans can literally make the difference!
It’s still Trumpcare, the plan that leaves 24 million Americans uninsured, with huge cuts Medicaid and Medicare - over $800 billion dollars- and still is a tax giveaway for the drug companies, insurance executives, and the wealthiest. The new “MacArthur amendment,” which was what got the right-wing opponents to support, would undermine their promise of protecting people with pre-existing conditions—allowing insurers to no longer cover key benefits and charge people thousands of dollars more based on their condition, including huge increases for older Americans.
It’s up to California! Yesterday, Rep. Denham was coming out of a Tuesday group meeting and quoted by reporters that he was a No on the bill. We have SEVEN others that have yet to take a position: Reps. Cook, Valadao, Knight, Issa, Royce, Rohrabacher, and LaMalfa. (Rep. Walters voted for the earlier version of AHCA in committee but is still a target.)
We need to tell these members “Don’t take away our health care!” and to be clear that the California impacts of AHCA would be $24 billion cuts to Medi-Cal, over four million Californians losing coverage, and increases in premiums and deductibles for many more.    WE NEED YOUR HELP:
